ABOUT ABOUT

NWHM invites you to attend “Pursuing Opportunity: Women in Higher Education,” the eighth forum in its Initiating Change/Adapting to Change lecture series on Thursday, April 9 at 6:00 pm at The GWU Morton Auditorium.

Education is a pathway towards self-improvement, whether for the love of knowledge or better professional opportunities. Women today represent more than 50% of university students, a stunning change from the past when they were barred from many colleges and marginalized in others. Achieving parity forever changed American society. Join us to discuss how higher education changed women, and how women changed higher education.

Linda Eisenmann, Ed.D. (Provost, Professor of Education/History, Wheaton College) and Gloria L. Blackwell (Vice President of Fellowships, Grants & Global Programs, AAUW) are the speakers for the event.

The one-hour discussion will take place at The Morton Auditorium located on The George Washington University’s campus at 6:00 pm, followed by a reception from 7:00-7:30pm. General admission is $10 but there is a discount code available for NWHM members. Tickets are free for teachers and students with a valid student ID.

Parking/Public Transportation: Several private garages are located within walking distance of Morton Auditorium. NWHM recommends parking at The George Washington University. GWU parking is available at the Marvin Center (located on H Street between 21st and 22nd Streets),and G Street Garage (entrances located on 20th and 21st Streets between F and G Streets). A new garage has opened on H Street, between 22st and 23rd Streets (on the left hand side of the street after turning right from 22nd Street). The nearest Metro station is Foggy Bottom.
